How to use proxies with SwitchyOmega
Adding proxies
To start using proxies with SwitchyOmega, you’ll need to get the extension first:
Once you install SwitchyOmega extension on your preferred browser, you’ll need to:
1. Open SwitchyOmega's Options.
2. Click on New profile.
3. Type in a Profile name.
4. Choose Proxy Profile type and click Create.
6. Configure your proxy details.
Residential Proxies
Connection type: HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS5
Server: pr.oxylabs.io
Port: 7777
You can also use country-specific entries. For example, entering us-pr.oxylabs.io under Server and 10000 under Port will acquire a US exit node. Please refer to our documentation for a complete list of country-specific entry nodes or if you need a sticky session.
For Residential Proxies, add 7777 under Port
Shared Datacenter Proxies
Connection type: HTTP
Server: dc.pr.oxylabs.io
Port: 10000
You can also use a country-specific entry. For example, entering dc.fr-pr.oxylabs.io under Server and 42000 under Port will acquire a French exit node. Please refer to our documentation for a complete list of country-specific entry nodes.
Enterprise Dedicated Datacenter Proxies
Connection type: HTTP or SOCKS5
Server: a specific IP address (e.g., 1.2.3.4)
Port: 60000
For Enterprise Dedicated Datacenter Proxies, you’ll have to choose an IP address from the acquired list. Visit our documentation for more details.
Self-Service Dedicated Datacenter Proxies
Connection type: HTTP or HTTPS
Server: ddc.oxylabs.io
Port: 8001
For Self-Service Dedicated Datacenter Proxies, the port indicates the sequential number of an IP address from the acquired list. Check our documentation for more details.
7. Next, click the Lock button on the right.
8. After that, fill in your Oxylabs proxy user's Username and Password.
9. Click Save changes.
10. Click Apply changes.
11. For the final step, click on the SwitchyOmega extension icon and choose your newly configured proxy. And that’s it!
